Top 10 Etiquette Faux Pas

Etiquette expert Joy Weaver offers a list of Top 10 etiquette faux pas:

- Forgetting to turn cell phones on silent in public places - and even worse, answering with a "cell yell."

- Not responding to party invitations - just showing up and bringing a friend.

- Not sending a thank-you note or at least thank-you e-mail.

- Double Dipping! Not only is it rude, but it can be a health hazard to dunk food into a dip after taking a bite.

- Coughing and sneezing in your social (right) hand. You shake hands, pick up utensils and finger foods with your right hand.

- Re-gifting! If you don't like a gift, donate it or give it to someone who can use it - don't pass it off as a gift you purchased for someone else.

- Using the wrong bread plate or water glass - remember BMW (bread on the left, meal in the center, water on the right).

- Inviting and not paying.

- Applying lipstick at the table. All personal grooming should be done in the restroom.

- Passing around junk e-mails and screaming at your friend by typing with all capital letters.
